Rhonda Shear (born November 9, 1954) is an American comedian, actress, and entrepreneur. She is best known for hosting the USA Network cable television show Up All Night from 1989 to 1992, and for her line of Shapewear, “Shear Enterprises”.

Early Life
Shear was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Jewish parents, Edna (née Levy) and Sidney Shear. She has two sisters, Ronnie and Robyn. Shear’s father was a businessman, and her mother was a homemaker.
Shear graduated from Metairie Park Country Day School in 1972. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), where she studied mass communication.

After college, Shear began working as a stand-up comedian in New York City. In 1979, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in show business.
In the 1980s, Shear appeared on several television shows, including Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, and Charlie’s Angels. She also had small roles in films such as Airplane II: The Sequel (1982) and Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986).
In 1989, Shear began hosting the USA Network cable television show Up All Night. The show featured B-movies and cult films, and ran for three seasons until 1992.
In 1993, Shear starred in her own exercise video, Rhonda Shear’s Up All Night Workout. The video was a bestseller, and led to Shear launching her own line of Shapewear, “Shear Enterprises”.
Shear has also appeared on reality television shows such as Celebrity Fit Club and Dancing with the Stars.
In recent years, Shear has toured the country with her stand-up comedy act.
Personal Life
Shear has been married three times. Her first husband was actor Pierre-Louis Costes; the couple divorced in 1985. Shear’s second husband was businessman Bob Adler; the couple divorced in 2006. Shear has been married to Van Fagan since 2008.
Shear has two daughters from her first marriage, Nicole and Alexandra.
