Matt Ross is an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his role as Alby Grant on the HBO television series Big Love. He has also appeared in films such as 28 Days, American Psycho, Good Night, and Good Luck, and The Aviator.

Ross was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, the son of Barbara (née Hirsch) and Timothy Ross. He has two sisters, Amy and Jennifer. Ross was raised in Greenwich and attended Greenwich Academy. He later attended Yale University, where he studied film and directing.

Ross began his acting career with a small role in the film 28 Days. He has since appeared in films such as American Psycho, Good Night, and Good Luck, The Aviator, and Captain Fantastic. He has also directed the films 28 Days and American Psycho 2.

Ross has been married to Lisa Ann Walter since 2003. They have two children together.
