Martin Jarvis OBE (born 12 August 1941) is an English actor, voice artist, and director.
He is known for his work in theatre, television, radio, and film. He has appeared in many West End theatre productions, including the original production of The Rocky Horror Show.
Jarvis was born in London, the son of actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft and actor Bill Jarvis. He was educated at Latymer Upper School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
He made his stage debut in 1962, and his first film appearance was in 1964. He has appeared in many television programmes, including The Avengers, Doctor Who, Rumpole of the Bailey, and Midsomer Murders.
In recent years, Jarvis has become known for his work as a voice artist. He has narrated numerous audiobooks, and has been the voice of Winnie-the-Pooh in several Disney productions.
Jarvis has been married to actress Susannah York since 1974. They have two children.
Jarvis was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2009 New Year Honours.
