John Asher is an American actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his role as Gary on the television series Wings and for his work as a producer on the television series Gossip Girl and The O. C. Asher was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 7, 1963, to actor and director William Asher and actress Joyce Bulifant. He has two sisters, Elizabeth and Jane.

Asher was educated at the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles and at the University of Southern California. He began his career as an actor, appearing in the television series The Young and the Restless and in the film The Osterman Weekend. He later directed and produced the films The In-Laws and The Wedding Singer. Asher has been married three times.

His first wife was actress Alyssa Milano, with whom he has a daughter, Elizabella. His second wife was actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, with whom he has a son, Atticus. Asher is currently married to actress Tori Spelling. ..
