Henry Ian Cusick is a Scottish actor, director, and producer. He is best known for his role as Desmond Hume on the American television series Lost.
Cusick was born on 17 April 1967 in Perth, Scotland. His parents are Henry Joseph and Mary Cusick. He has four siblings: three brothers and one sister. Cusick was educated at the Perth Academy and the University of Edinburgh.
Cusick began his acting career in the early 1990s with roles in the Scottish television series Taggart and Take the High Road. He made his film debut in the 1996 film Trainspotting. In 2004, Cusick was cast as Desmond Hume on Lost. He appeared in all six seasons of the show, and his performance earned him a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor on Television in 2006.
After Lost ended in 2010, Cusick had roles in the television series Scandal, The 100, and Designated Survivor. He has also appeared in the films The Raven (2012), Olympus Has Fallen (2013), and The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015).
Cusick is married to Annie Wood. They have two children together.
