Erick Torres Padilla (born July 5, 1995) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a striker for Liga MX club Pumas UNAM.

Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Torres began his career with Chivas de Guadalajara, making his professional debut in 2012. He scored 19 goals in 44 appearances for the club before being sold to MLS club Houston Dynamo in 2014. He scored 25 goals in 72 appearances for Houston before being loaned to Mexican club Cruz Azul in 2016. He scored 12 goals in 28 appearances for Cruz Azul before returning to Houston in 2017.

Torres has also represented Mexico at the international level, scoring four goals in 12 appearances for the Mexico national team.

Early Life

Torres was born on July 5, 1995, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He began playing football at a young age and joined the youth academy of local club Chivas de Guadalajara in 2006.

Career

Chivas de Guadalajara

Torres made his professional debut for Chivas de Guadalajara on August 18, 2012, coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Puebla. He scored his first professional goal on September 16, 2012, scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Tigres UANL.

He scored 19 goals in 44 appearances for Chivas de Guadalajara before being sold to MLS club Houston Dynamo in December 2014.

Houston Dynamo

Torres made his MLS debut for Houston Dynamo on March 6, 2015, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Columbus Crew SC. He scored his first MLS goal on April 11, 2015, scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw with New York City FC.

He scored 25 goals in 72 appearances for Houston before being loaned to Mexican club Cruz Azul in August 2016.

Cruz Azul

Torres made his debut for Cruz Azul on August 27, 2016, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Pumas UNAM. He scored his first goal for the club on September 10, 2016, scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Tigres UANL.

He scored 12 goals in 28 appearances for Cruz Azul before returning to Houston in December 2017.

Houston Dynamo (second spell)

Torres re-joined Houston Dynamo for the 2018 season. He scored his first goal of his second spell with the club on March 3, 2018, scoring the equalizer in a 1-1 draw with LA Galaxy.

Mexico national team

Torres made his debut for the Mexico national team on November 13, 2014, coming on as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina. He scored his first international goal on June 27, 2015, scoring the equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago.
