Ellie Lambeti is a Greek actress and singer. She was born in Athens, Greece on March 14, 1960. Her parents are Dimitrios Lambetis and Maria Lambeti. She has two sisters, Anna and Katerina. She attended the National Conservatory of Athens and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Lambeti’s acting career began in 1982 with a role in the Greek film To Kako. She has since appeared in numerous films and television shows in Greece and abroad. Some of her most notable roles have been in the films The Red Lantern (1988), The Suspended Step of the Stork (1991), and The Beekeeper (1986). She has also appeared in the television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (1992) and The Oresteia (1995).
Lambeti has won several awards for her work, including the Greek Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress (1988) and the Hellenic Film Academy Award for Best Actress (1991). She has been nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama (1992) and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role (1995).
Lambeti’s singing career began in the early 1990s. She has released three albums, Ellie Lambeti (1991), A New Day (1993), and Ellie Lambeti Sings Greek Songs (1995). She has also appeared as a guest vocalist on several albums by other artists.
Lambeti has been married to actor Dimitris Tzoumakis since 1992. They have two children together, Maria and Dimitris.
