Dwight Hauser was born on December 21, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were both schoolteachers. He has two older sisters. He attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1984. He then attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1988. After graduation, he worked for a few years as a financial analyst for a Detroit-based company. In 1992, he decided to pursue a career in law and enrolled in the Wayne State University Law School. He graduated from law school in 1995 and passed the Michigan bar exam.
Hauser began his legal career as an assistant prosecutor in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. In 1998, he left the prosecutor’s office to start his own law firm. The firm, Hauser & Associates, P.C., specializes in criminal defense and civil litigation. Hauser has represented clients in a wide variety of cases, including murder, assault, drug trafficking, and white collar crime. He has also represented clients in civil lawsuits, such as personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Hauser is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Michigan Association for Justice. In addition to his law practice, Hauser is also a mediator and arbitrator. He is a certified mediator by the Michigan Supreme Court and is on the roster of mediators for the American Arbitration Association.
Hauser is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
