Chang Chen is a Taiwanese actor. He was born on October 21, 1976 in Taipei, Taiwan, to parents who were both in the entertainment industry. His father is actor Chen Kuan-tai and his mother is actress Joan Lin. He has an older sister named Chen Shiang-chyi, who is also an actress. Chang Chen began his acting career at a young age, appearing in his father’s films.
He later attended the Taipei National University of the Arts, where he studied acting. After graduation, he appeared in a number of films and television dramas. Chang Chen’s breakout role came in the film “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the Taipei Film Festival. He has since gone on to star in many films, including “The Go Master”, “Three Times”, “The Assassin”, and “The Last Supper”.
Chang Chen has also been a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. He is currently married to actress Vivian Sung, with whom he has two daughters.
