Brendan Cowell (born 1968) is an Australian actor, writer, director and producer. He has worked in television, film and theatre. He is best known for his role as Ben Mitchell in the soap opera Home and Away.
Cowell was born in Sydney, Australia. His parents were both school teachers. He has two older sisters. Cowell was educated at Sydney Boys High School and the University of Sydney.
Cowell’s acting career began in 1992 with a role in the television series Home and Away. He has also appeared in the films The Boys (1998), The Bank (2001) and The Great Gatsby (2013).
Cowell has written several plays, including Love is a Battlefield (2007) and The Story of Mary MacLane by Herself (2009). He has also directed the films Noise (2007) and The Square (2008).
