Belinda was born on August 17, in the year 1963, in the city of Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of James and Darlene Carlisle. She has three siblings, two sisters named Holly and Marie, and a brother named Derek. She attended high school at Palisades Charter High School and graduated in the year 1981. She then went on to study at UCLA, and graduated with a degree in English in the year 1985.

Belinda’s career began as a backup singer for various artists, including Chaka Khan and Bruce Springsteen. She then became a member of the Go-Go’s in the year 1980, and they released their debut album, “Beauty and the Beat”, in the year 1981. The album was a huge success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The Go-Go’s went on to release two more albums, “Vacation” and “Talk Show”, before disbanding in the year 1985.

Belinda then embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut album, “Belinda”, in the year 1986. The album was a moderate success, reaching number forty-seven on the Billboard 200 chart. She released her second album, “Heaven on Earth”, in the year 1987. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over three million copies in the United States. Belinda’s third album, “Runaway Horses”, was released in the year 1989. The album was another commercial success, reaching number two on the Billboard 200 chart and selling over two million copies in the United States.

Belinda has been married twice. Her first husband was actor Dan Gilroy, whom she married in the year 1986. The couple divorced in the year 1988. Her second husband is Morgan Mason, whom she married in the year 1991. The couple has two children together, a son named James and a daughter named Lily.
