Born in Los Angeles, California, on April 28, 1966, Too Short (real name Todd Anthony Shaw) was raised in South Central LA. His parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather. After graduating from high school, Too Short began working on his music career in earnest. He released his first album, “Don’t Stop Rappin”, in 1985. The album was another success, and helped to establish Too Short as one of the premier rappers in the West Coast scene.

In the early 1990s, Too Short began to branch out into other areas of the entertainment industry.
