Both Klein and Arnold attended schools for children with dwarfism. They met in 1999 at a support group for people with dwarfism.

Klein is a businessman. He owns a company that sells toys and novelty items.

Arnold is a neonatal physician. She works at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
