Tanner Mangum (born December 27, 1994) is an American football quarterback for the Brigham Young Cougars of the West Coast Conference (WCC). He played college football for the Cougars from 2014 to 2016. Mangum was named the WCC Freshman of the Year in 2014 after leading BYU to an 8–5 record and a berth in the 2014 Fight Hunger Bowl. He was also named a Freshman All-American by ESPN.com and 247Sports.com. Mangum was the starting quarterback for BYU in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, he was named the WCC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Cougars to a 9–4 record and a berth in the 2015 Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. In 2016, he was named to the All-WCC first team. Mangum finished his BYU career with 7,377 passing yards and 62 touchdown passes.

Mangum was born in Eagle Mountain, Utah. He is the son of Jeff and Brooke Mangum. He has two brothers, Taysom and Tristen, and two sisters, Tawni and Tori. Mangum grew up in Eagle Mountain and attended Lone Peak High School. He played football, basketball, and track for the Knights. As a senior in 2012, he was named the Gatorade Utah Football Player of the Year and the Deseret News Mr. Football. He was also named a first-team All-State selection by the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune. Mangum was rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports.com and Scout.com. He committed to Brigham Young University (BYU) to play college football.

Mangum served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Chile from 2013 to 2015. He returned from his mission in time for spring football practice in 2015.

Mangum became BYU’s starting quarterback as a freshman in 2014 after Taysom Hill suffered a season-ending injury in the third game of the season. Mangum led BYU to an 8–5 record and a berth in the 2014 Fight Hunger Bowl. He was named the WCC Freshman of the Year and was also named a Freshman All-American by ESPN.com and 247Sports.com. Mangum finished the season with 3,377 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes.

Mangum was the starting quarterback for BYU in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, he was named the WCC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Cougars to a 9–4 record and a berth in the 2015 Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. In 2016, he was named to the All-WCC first team. Mangum finished his BYU career with 7,377 passing yards and 62 touchdown passes.

Mangum signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was waived by the Packers on September 2, 2017 and was signed to the practice squad the next day. He was released from the practice squad on September 12, 2017.

Mangum signed with the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) on January 30, 2019. The league ceased operations in April 2019 before Mangum ever played a game for the Stallions.

Mangum is 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall and weighs 220 pounds (100 kg). He is married to McKenna Pulsipher.
