Shane Richie (born Shane Patrick Roche on 11 March 1964) is an English actor, comedian, singer and television presenter. He has appeared in numerous television shows and films throughout his career, including the soap operas EastEnders and Minder.

Richie was born in Harlesden, London, to Irish parents. His father, Cyril, was a bus driver, and his mother, Helen, was a homemaker. He has four brothers and sisters. He was educated at St Benedict’s School in Ealing.

Richie began his career as a stand-up comedian, appearing on the British comedy circuit in the 1980s. He also had minor roles in a number of films and television shows during this time. His big break came in 1985 when he was cast as Alfie Moon in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He played the role for over 20 years, becoming one of the show’s most popular characters.

In 2006, Richie left EastEnders to pursue other projects. He has since appeared in a number of stage productions, including the West End musicals Grease and Chicago. He has also released several albums and singles, and presented several television shows.

Richie has been married twice. His first marriage, to Coleen Nolan, ended in divorce after nine years. He has three children from this marriage. His second marriage, to Christie Goddard, is currently ongoing. The couple have two children together.

Richie has an estimated net worth of £8 million ($10 million). He earns a salary of £250,000 ($320,000) per year from his work on EastEnders. He has also earned significant sums from his stage work, albums and singles, and television presenting gigs.
