Ryan Cooley is a Canadian actor best known for his role as James Tiberius “J.T.” Yorke on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on May 28, 1988, Cooley was raised in a small town outside of the city. His parents were both teachers, and he has two older sisters. Cooley began acting in school plays and community theatre productions when he was just eight years old.
After graduating from high school, Cooley moved to Toronto to pursue his acting career. He landed his first professional role in 2004, when he was cast as J.T. Yorke on Degrassi: The Next Generation. He appeared in more than 150 episodes of the show over the course of seven seasons, until his character was killed off in 2010.
Since leaving Degrassi, Cooley has appeared in a number of film and television roles, including the movies Charlie Bartlett (2007) and Prom Night (2008), and the TV series Lost Girl (2010) and Murdoch Mysteries (2011). He has also done voice work for the animated series Total Drama (2009-2010) and Beyblade: Metal Fusion (2010-2011).
Cooley currently resides in Toronto with his girlfriend, actress Shenae Grimes. The couple has one daughter together, born in 2013.
