Quinn Buckner is an American former professional basketball player and current television analyst. He is a two-time NBA champion, Olympic gold medalist, and former president of the Indiana Pacers.

Buckner was born on May 20, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents, John and Dorothy Buckner, were both educators. He has three brothers: John, Jim, and Joe. Buckner attended Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, where he was a standout player on the basketball team. He then went on to play college basketball at the University of Indiana, where he was a member of the 1974 NCAA championship team.
Buckner was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1976 NBA draft. He played eight seasons in the NBA, including stints with the Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers. He won two NBA championships with the Bulls in 1981 and 1982. He retired from playing in 1984 and became a television analyst for the Bulls.
In 1988, Buckner was hired as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks. He coached the Mavericks for two seasons, compiling a record of 43-85. He was fired after the team failed to make the playoffs.
In 1990, Buckner returned to broadcasting, joining NBC Sports as a game analyst. He has been with NBC ever since, serving as a game analyst for NBA games and as a studio analyst for The NBA on NBC.

Buckner has also been involved in various business ventures. He is the owner of a real estate development company and a sports marketing firm. He is also a partner in a venture capital firm.
Buckner is married to his wife, Joni, with whom he has three children: Quinn, Brooke, and Dylan.
