Miki Howard (born Alicia Michelle Howard on August 9, 1960) is an American singer–songwriter and actress. Howard began her career in the 1980s as a backing singer for Phyllis Hyman and Patti LaBelle. Her debut album Love Intoxication was released in 1986 on Atlantic Records. The album peaked at number thirty-six on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It produced the singles “Come Share My Love” and “Imagination”, which both peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart. Her second album, Femme Fatale, was released in 1988 on Atlantic. It reached number thirty-seven on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the RIAA. The album spawned the singles “Baby Be Mine” and “Love Under New Management”, which both peaked at number one on the Hot Black Singles chart.

Howard’s third album, Miki Howard, was released in 1992 on Giant Records. It peaked at number sixty-two on the Billboard 200 and produced the single “Ain’t Nobody Like You”, which peaked at number sixty-eight on the Hot 100. Her fourth album, Love Confessions, was released in 1995 on Giant. It peaked at number ninety-six on the Billboard 200 and produced the single “Free”, which peaked at number sixty-one on the Hot 100. Howard’s fifth and final album, Private Life: The Journey of Miki Howard, was released in 2008 on Hidden Beach Recordings.

Howard has appeared in a number of films and television shows throughout her career. In 1985, she made her film debut in The Slugger’s Wife alongside Michael O’Keefe and Rebecca De Mornay. In 1986, she appeared in an episode of the television series Miami Vice. In 1988, she starred in the film I’m Gonna Git You Sucka alongside Keenen Ivory Wayans and Bernie Mac. In 1989, she appeared in an episode of the television series L.A. Law. In 1990, she starred in the film Bird on a Wire alongside Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn.

Howard has been married three times. Her first marriage was to musician Paul Young from 1982 to 1988. Her second marriage was to actor Darnell Williams from 1989 to 1996. Her third marriage is to businessman Anthony Michael Jones, with whom she has two children.
