Melanie Paxson is an American actress, best known for her role as Jaclyn in the television series Cupid and as Holly Flax in the American version of The Office.
Paxson was born in Evanston, Illinois, on September 26, 1972, to parents who were both teachers. She has two older sisters. Paxson attended Evanston Township High School, where she was a cheerleader and played softball. She then went on to study acting at the Juilliard School in New York City.
Paxson’s first professional acting role was in the 1996 film The Associate, opposite Whoopi Goldberg. She has since appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Cupid, Grosse Pointe, Once and Again, and The Office.
Paxson has been married to actor and director Jason Ritter since 1999. The couple has two children together.
