Matt Osborne, better known by his ring name, Doink the Clown, is a retired American professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the early 1990s.

Osborne was born in Austin, Texas on December 27, 1963. He was the youngest of three children. His father was a Baptist minister and his mother was a homemaker. Osborne was raised in a strict religious household and was not allowed to watch professional wrestling growing up. He became interested in the sport after watching it on television at a friend’s house.

Osborne began his professional wrestling career in 1984. He wrestled on the independent circuit under a variety of names, including “Matt Borne” and “Big Josh”. In 1992, he signed with the WWF and debuted as Doink the Clown. He quickly became one of the promotion’s most popular characters.

Osborne left the WWF in 1993 and wrestled for several smaller promotions over the next few years. He returned to the WWF in 1996 and wrestled sporadically for the company until his retirement in 2002.

During his career, Osborne held several championships, including the WWF Hardcore Championship and the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

Osborne has been married twice and has three children. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
