Mary Beth Evans is an American actress best known for her role as Kayla Brady on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives. She has also appeared on General Hospital, As the World Turns, and The Young and the Restless.
Born in Pasadena, California, Evans was raised in Connecticut. She is the youngest of four children. Her father was an aerospace engineer and her mother was a homemaker. Evans began acting in high school and appeared in community theater productions. She studied acting at the University of Southern California.
Evans made her television debut in 1984 on the soap opera General Hospital. She played the role of Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless from 1986 to 1987. In 1988, she began playing Kayla Brady on Days of Our Lives. She has appeared on the show continuously since then.
In addition to her work on soap operas, Evans has appeared in made-for-television movies and primetime dramas. She has also guest-starred on episodes of Magnum, P.I., Matlock, and Diagnosis Murder.
Evans has been married to actor Steve Johnson since 1991. They have two children together.
