Marion Elise Ravn (born May 22, 1984), known mononymously as Marion, is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, television personality, and occasional actress. She was a child star in her native Norway before achieving success in the United States as the lead singer of the pop rock band M2M. The group’s first album, Shades of Purple, was released in 2000 and went platinum in Norway, Denmark, and Singapore. It also charted in several other countries, including the United States, where it peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 chart. The group’s second album, The Big Room (2002), was less successful commercially but produced the hit single “Don’t Say You Love Me”, which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
After the dissolution of M2M in 2002, Raven began a solo career. Her debut solo album, Here I Am (2005), was a commercial disappointment but spawned the hit single “Break You”, which reached the top 20 of the Norwegian Singles Chart. Her second album, Heads Will Roll (2007), was her first to be released internationally and was a moderate success, reaching the top 40 of the Norwegian Albums Chart. It produced the hit singles “Into Your Head” and “Scream”. In 2010, Raven released her third album, Set Me Free, which peaked at number 11 on the Norwegian Albums Chart and spawned the hit single “The Minute”.
Raven has also appeared as a judge on several Norwegian reality television shows, including Idol (2006–2007) and The X Factor (2010–2011). In 2014, she competed in the Norwegian version of Dancing with the Stars.
Raven was born in Lørenskog, Norway, to Steinar Ravn (born 1961), a businessman, and Heidi Alexandra Hansen (born 1963), a stylist. She has an older sister, Heidi Marion (born 1982). Raven began singing at a young age and released her first single, “Trust Me”, when she was only eleven years old. She achieved her first major success with the release of her debut album, Shades of Purple (2000), which went platinum in Norway, Denmark, and Singapore. It also charted in several other countries, including the United States, where it peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200 chart.

It produced the hit singles “Don’t Say You Love Me”, which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and “The Day You Went Away”, which peaked at number one in Norway.
