Marcheline Bertrand was born on May 9, 1950, in Joliet, Illinois, to parents Mary Lillian and Edward M. Bertrand. She had two older sisters, Michele and Sharon. Marcheline was raised Catholic and attended Catholic schools. She graduated from high school in 1968 and then attended beauty school. After working as a beautician for a few years, Marcheline decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.

Marcheline’s first acting role was in the 1971 film “The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing.” She went on to appear in a number of other films and television shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In 1978, Marcheline met actor Jon Voight on the set of the film “Coming Home.” The two married in December of that year. They had two children together, actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven.

Marcheline and Jon divorced in 1980, but remained close friends. Marcheline continued to pursue her acting career, appearing in films such as “Lookin’ to Get Out” (1982) and “Lipstick” (1985). In the early 1990s, she began working as a producer, helping to produce her daughter Angelina’s first film, “Cyborg 2” (1993).

Marcheline was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1999. She underwent treatment and went into remission. However, the cancer returned in 2006 and Marcheline died on January 27, 2007, at the age of 56.

Marcheline Bertrand was a successful actress and producer who had a long and fruitful career in Hollywood. She was also the mother of two famous Hollywood stars, Angelina Jolie and James Haven. Marcheline battled ovarian cancer for many years before succumbing to the disease at the age of 56.
