Liza Snyder (born March 20, 1963) is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Mary Swanson in the 1994 film Dumb and Dumber, as Carol Vessey on the NBC sitcom Jesse, and as Christine Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear.
Early Life
Snyder was born in New York City, the daughter of Eileen (née Ivers) and Robert Snyder. She has two sisters, Amy and Susan. Snyder was raised in a Catholic family of Irish descent. She graduated from high school in 1981.
Career
Snyder began her career as a child actress, appearing in commercials and guest starring on television shows such as The Equalizer and The Cosby Show. She made her film debut in the 1984 comedy This Is Spinal Tap.

Snyder’s breakout role came in 1994, when she played Mary Swanson in the comedy Dumb and Dumber. She subsequently appeared in films such as Mr. Wrong (1996), Beverly Hills Ninja (1997), and What Women Want (2000).
From 1998 to 2000, Snyder starred as Carol Vessey on the NBC sitcom Jesse. She later starred as Christine Hughes on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear from 2000 to 2006.
Snyder has also appeared in a number of made-for-television movies, such as A Stranger in Town (1995), A Cooler Climate (1999), and The Christmas Shoes (2002).
