Kris Boyd (born August 18, 1985) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Kilmarnock. Boyd is Kilmarnock’s all-time leading goalscorer, having scored 164 goals in all competitions between 2000 and 2006. He has also scored the most Scottish Premiership goals, with 113.
Boyd was born in Glasgow and grew up in the city’s East End. He began his career with Kilmarnock, making his first team debut in 2000. He scored his first goal for the club in a 1–1 draw with Dundee United in September 2000. Boyd went on to score 164 goals for Kilmarnock, making him the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Boyd moved to Rangers for a fee of £400,000 in January 2006. He scored 27 goals in his first season with Rangers, helping the club to win the Scottish Premier League title. Boyd also won the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup with Rangers. He left Rangers in 2010, having scored a total of 71 goals in all competitions.
Boyd then had spells with Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Eskisehirspor and Kilmarnock (for a second time). He rejoined Kilmarnock in 2017 and has since scored 32 goals for the club.
Boyd has also represented Scotland at international level. He made his debut for the Scotland national team in 2007 and has since earned 36 caps, scoring 7 goals.
