Gene Haas is an American businessman and the founder of Haas Automation, the largest CNC machine tool builder in North America. He is also a co-owner of the Haas F1 Team.

Haas was born on November 12, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio. His father was a tool and die maker and his mother was a homemaker. He has two sisters.

Haas was educated at the California State University, Northridge where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

After graduation, Haas worked in various accounting and financial positions before starting his own machine tool business, Haas Automation, in 1983. The company quickly became successful and today is the largest CNC machine tool builder in North America.

In 2002, Haas formed the Haas Racing team which competed in the Indy Racing League. In 2016, the team transitioned to Formula One racing and is now known as the Haas F1 Team.

Haas is married to Sharon Ann and they have two children together.

Haas has an estimated net worth of $800 million.
