Chuck McCann (September 2, 1934 – April 8, 2018) was an American actor, comedian, voice artist, and game show host. He began his career as a child actor in the 1940s, appearing in films such as The Human Comedy (1943) and The Three Musketeers (1948). He later transitioned to television, appearing on shows such as The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961–1966), The Love Boat (1977–1986), and Fantasy Island (1978–1984). He also had a successful career as a voice artist, lending his voice to characters in animated films and television shows such as The Smurfs (1981–1989) and DuckTales (1987–1990). In addition to his acting and voice work, McCann was also a game show host, hosting such shows as The $10,000 Pyramid (1973–1974) and The New $25,000 Pyramid (1974–1979).

McCann was born Charles John Patrick McCann in Brooklyn, New York, on September 2, 1934. His parents, John and Irene McCann, were of Irish descent. He had two older sisters, Mary and Patricia. McCann’s early education took place at Our Lady of Victory Elementary School and Brooklyn Technical High School. He later attended the New York Institute of Technology.

McCann’s acting career began in the early 1940s when he appeared in a series of short films for the Vitaphone Corporation. He made his feature film debut in the 1943 film The Human Comedy. He also appeared in the 1948 film The Three Musketeers. In the 1950s, McCann transitioned to television, appearing on such shows as The Phil Silvers Show and The Jack Benny Program. He also had a recurring role on the sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show, appearing in 61 episodes from 1961 to 1966.

In the 1970s, McCann returned to film, appearing in such movies as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) and The Rescuers (1977). He also appeared on several television shows, including The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. In the 1980s, he continued to work in both film and television. He appeared in the films E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and The Breakfast Club (1985). He also lent his voice to the characters of Papa Smurf in The Smurfs (1981–1989) and Scrooge McDuck in DuckTales (1987–1990).

In addition to his acting work, McCann also hosted several game shows, including The $10,000 Pyramid and The New $25,000 Pyramid. He also served as a panelist on the game show Hollywood Squares from 1968 to 1981.

McCann was married three times. His first marriage was to actress Bonnie Jones in 1956. They had two children together before divorcing in 1962. His second marriage was to actress Barbara Newborn in 1967. They had one child together before divorcing in 1972. His third marriage was to actress Beverly Garwood in 1977. They had no children together and divorced in 1980.

McCann died on April 8, 2018, at the age of 83.
